What does the program include? The program agenda includes a lineup of dynamic speakers, leadership training and countless opportunities for networking and relationship building. Session topics have included leadership personality assessments, media training, crisis management training, policy trends discussions and more. Take a look at the 2009 Toll Fellows Program Brochure! Where is the program? The Toll Fellowship Program convenes in Lexington, Ky., home of The Council of State Governments headquarters office. Participants are treated to a five-night, six-day stay—meals and program fees included—at the Hyatt in downton Lexington. Participants are only responsible for their transportation to and from Lexington. Who should apply? Promising leaders from all areas of state government who are looking for the opportunity to improve their leadership skills and gain a greater understanding of the challenges of public service. Applications are accepted and participants are selected competitively, based on leadership potential and accomplishments to date. Forty applicants are selected—10 from each of CSG’s four regions. Two alternates from each region are also chosen. How is the program supported? The Kentucky Legislative Research Commission is the largest single contributor to the Henry Toll Fellowship Program. Private sector corporations, most of whom are also paying members to the CSG Associates Program, also contribute generously to support this program. |

States Strengthen Graduation Requirements
States across the Midwest are strengthening graduation requirements. The June Stateline Midwest also focuses on changes to home foreclosure laws, more aggressive regulatory actions on invasive species and state tax credits for the film industry.
